Background

Born into a family of professional classical musicians, he grew up in Germany where his father plays French horn in the symphony orchestras of Mainz and Wuppertal, and was from an early age immersed in the traditions of classical and operatic music. He has studied classical guitar and music theory both at the Alberta College Conservatory of Music and the Musik HochSchule in Velbert, Germany, and has won top awards for performance in classical guitar. He also holds an honors diploma in Fine Art, and has studied sound design and new media at Ryerson University. He toured Canada with independent rock group Unherd, and now resides in Toronto.

SKILLS

  • Composition and Arranging: 15 years. Strength in electronica/techno, hybrid electronic/orchestral, rock and pop, solo guitar and piano, and traditional orchestral.
  • Highly proficient in Cubase; working knowledge of Pro Tools.
  • Music creation and recording, mixing, mastering, & sound design creation
  • Synthesizer and software sampling and programming, including Reason 3, Absynth, Kontakt and many others. Main libraries used include EWQLSO Gold, Stormdrum, and RA - Rare Instruments.
  • MIDI instrument programming, orchestration/finessing " Microphone technique, recording, mixing, audio sweetening, and mastering of both electronic and acoustic sources.
  • Versatile guitar player (17 yrs exp.), as well as keyboards, bass, bansuri, drums and percussion.

  • Internships: One of only 3 Canadian composers selected by the Guild of Canadian Film Composers in 2007. Completed 6 Week apprenticeship to Donald Quan (Relic Hunter, Mutant X).

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Adrian's personal interest include philosophy, art and design, and martial arts. He has a total of over 7 years in serious martial arts study in various disciplines, and currently holds a 2nd degree black belt in Shotokan Karate, and has placed first in provincial and city tournaments, and actively assists in coaching junior teams.
